You don’t have to be a genius to be as smart as one.

After reading that part in the description, I decided to go ahead and try out the book for myself, and I’m glad I did. Most of the people I’ve met all the way up to senior year in college seem to always put limitations on themselves as to why they can’t do certain things. Outside of physical activities and sports, academics seem to be the most prominent with a lot of my friends whining about not being geniuses so that’s why they can’t do “XY” in class “AB”, which is why I’m glad I can show them this book to prove to them it’s all mental.
After going through some of the exercises in the book some I felt had immediate effect on my sub-conscious while some of the others seemed to slowly start taking effect with repetition either weekly or daily. What kept me engaged was that it never felt like too much, and felt like everything was broken down in an easy enough way that didn’t require hours to understand which is good considering I have a life with school and work so I can imagine those of you who are reading this now are probably somewhere in similar time constraint.
Anyways, ‘Instant Genius’ was a good read that was very informative and had pretty cool “how to” strategies, and other exercises that I felt kept my brain mentally sharp and growing. After reading I definitely feel that you don’t have to “be a genius to be as smart as one”.

Insightful Book

This book is not what I thought it would be based on the cover and description. I was expecting to read a long history of geniuses and what got them there. In that regard, I was disappointed because I like biographies. The most mention of Geniuses took place in the first section where only a couple were mentioned. There was not much detail about those mentioned. However, once I got over my disappointment and dug into the book, I was surprised in a good way.
The book had a test at the beginning to see if you could find a certain number of words in a certain amount of time. They were arranged as a word find. This was a litmus test of intelligence, but I think also to prove anyone can be a genius, which is a premise of the book. This was what was surprising, and refreshing. After this challenge, the book jumps into practical theory about how the brain works and how that can aid the ability to be a genius. Then the book jumps into practical steps on how to be a genius. This was not something I was expecting, but it was nice to see this as you probably can only gleam so much from reading biographies of intelligent people. Actually knowing how to turn myself into a genius was a comforting notion.
One powerful example of becoming a genius the book mentioned was in chapter 4 when it discussed the idea of a personal logo. I found this fascinating. The idea of a personal logo that could represent who I was and be a trigger to help me stay on course to be a genius is brilliant. Another example in that chapter is the use of a genius switch. This is identifying a memory that you can call on to inspire you to do your best. It is practical ideas like this and other challenges in the book that make the notion of becoming a genius more real.
The book goes on to help walk you through obstacles to becoming a genius, how to overcome them, and how to become a genius by having a plan to face these obstacles. It helps you get out of your own way essentially. The exercise makes you think about your choices and there consequences. It is a powerful tool.
There are many other tools that make you think and process what you need to do in your life to become a genius.
All that said, I am skeptical about if the book will really work. Some of the material I have seen or heard in other productivity books. And some of the ideas stuck, while others did not. So, I am not convinced any guidebook like this can make you anything. It takes work and persistence to achieve in life. This book does a great job of showing you the path and helping you work your way down it step by step. But, the real work is up to you after you have worked through the book.

I purchased this novel as a guide to my business life. I was curious to see what it had to offer. Boy was I fulfilled. The main point of the publish is to demonstrate how individuals can help boost their overall psyche by following the program.
So check it out there are genius's out there aka Bill Gates, Michael Dell etc. The truth is you do not have to be the inventor of Microsoft to be considered a genius. People assume that you are pre ordained with this talent from birth, which is a common misconception. In chapter Two, it explains our sub-conscious which is voted most complex areas of the mind. So for those who do not know what it is, it is your "inner voice" like your soul. Its the voice in the back of your head that nobody ever hears.
So everybody knows the term 9-5. This is the mentality of that of a conformist. Fatigue is something we all have to deal with and this book helps teach us to "train" our mind and body. The article takes you out of your comfort zone by performing a simple exercise which trains brain stimulation. The trick is to combat these fears which in my opinion makes perfect sense. If we sleep all day how will be ever become truly genius?
